A talented filmmaker, photographer, and producer, Carole Joyce is Vice-President and Director of the 501(c)3 non-profit From the Heart Productions and the Roy W. Dean Grant, which she has been an integral part of for 30 years. A graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography, Carole is an award-winning filmmaker for her documentary, "Survivors." She produced the TV series "Heathstyles" as well as "Filmmakers", which is now in the national archives. While with Garamella/Fitzgerald Advertising Agency, Carole developed projects for young filmmakers David Fincher, Jessie Dylan and Mark Romanek. Recently, she served as Executive Producer for the award-winning short film "Stairway to the Stars" starring Sean Young and as LA Line Producer for "Wheels of Heaven" with Mickey Rourke.

I appreciate you. Okay, well, today's episode is unlike any other we've done. We're going way beyond budgets, pitches, and distribution and straight into the unseen world that powers all creativity. We're introducing you to the quantum field and how filmmakers can use it to manifest funding, align with their vision and dreams, and create more ease, joy, and success. I'm thrilled to interview my mother, Carol Dean, about her brand new book, Creating Your Future. The difference between normal and genius is your connection to the field. This book is about helping filmmakers awaken their creative power, tune into infinite intelligence, and realize the universe is ready to support their dreams. And of course, we want your feedback. Mom, you open this book by saying the universe is a sea of intelligence and we're all a part of it. How did you first come to believe that we can actually interact with this field?

Thank you. Well, that moment came when I was nine years old and I wanted nothing more than to be on stage with the whiz kids. I didn't know the quantum field existed, but I naturally used it. I visualized, I believed, I felt it. And looking back now, I realized that I was collapsing the wave, as Fred Allen Wolf says. That experience proved to me that the field responds to intention and emotion. And it's why I teach filmmakers to start their funding with vision and belief.

Well, in chapter one, you say the field is not judging you, it's simply reflecting. That's such a powerful idea. How can you explain how this helps filmmakers who feel stuck or afraid?

Absolutely, this is true. Many filmmakers get stuck in fear, fear of not having the money, fear of not being good enough, or not finishing the film. But the field doesn't care about those fears. It just reflects them back to you. So when you shift into a vibration of confidence, love, support, the field reflects that too. It brings the right people, good opportunities, and tons of resources. And that is why aligning your inner world is a first step in manufacturing and manifesting a film, not just budgets and spreadsheets. Please share your first chapter. Okay. Let's get into chapter one: the invisible web. What is the quantum field? Well, imagine for a moment that you're living in a sea of intelligence. It's not visible to the eye. It's not something you can touch or taste. And it's more real than the chair you're sitting on. This sea, this field is where all creation begins because every idea, Carol, every emotion, every event, every possibility exists in this field. It's energy before it becomes matter. This is not poetic thought. This is backed by quantum physicists. Scientists like Max Planck, Albert Einstein, Nicola Tesla, David Baum, and more recently, Nassim Harriman and Dr. Joe Dispenza, they've all taught us that beneath all matter is vibration, and that vibration is energy. And that energy is part of a unified field that responds to consciousness. You see, the deeper the scientists have looked into reality, down to atoms and electrons and even subatomic particles, the more that they've discovered that nothing is truly solid. The universe is made not of things, but relationships. And these relationships exist in patterns, patterns of energy. This field is always moving, always expanding, always communicating. And the most astonishing discovery, well, that the observer changes what is observed. This is known as the observer effect. And in simple terms, it means that consciousness, the act of observing, shapes reality. What you focus on with emotion and intent begins to form. So let that settle in for a moment because this means you, with your thoughts, your beliefs, your feelings, are interacting with the field at all times, even when you don't recognize it. You are the instrument. So think of yourself like a tuning fork. When you're calm, grateful, and aligned, you resignate at a higher frequency and you begin to attract people, opportunities, and ideas that match your vibration. So when you're afraid or doubtful, you're still resignate, but the field gives you more of what matches that energy. The quantum field is not judging you, it's not rewarding or punishing, it's simply reflecting a response to your inner world. This is one of the most empowering truths that I've learned. The more I tune into my own life, the more I begin to see that this world is not happening to me, it's happening for me and through me. You have a lot of power in creating your own future. So my connection to the quantum field started early when I was determined to get something. I was using the field to achieve it, but I didn't know it. When I was nine years old, there was a group of young people called the Whiz Kids, and they were on television and radio, they were brilliant, and they were my heroes, especially Joel Cooperman. He could do all kinds of difficult math in his head. So one morning, Dad said, Your favorite quiz kids are coming to Dallas and they're looking for five smart children to apply. And that was the best news I had ever heard. So I asked, What do I have to do to get on that stage with Joel? And my father looked a bit shocked because I was smart, but I wasn't that smart. So he said, Well, it all starts with a letter. Write to them and tell them why you want to be chosen. Well, that sounded easy, but little did I know that thousands of kids watched that show, just like me, and they were writing letters too. So I went to work creating a letter, which I had to find out what that meant. How do you write a letter? And then I put my heart on my sleeve and I said, This is the most important opportunity of my entire life. And I said a lot more, but I had help with the letter because I created what I thought was a good letter. And then during daydreaming time, which I loved, and in quiet times, going to sleep or waking up, I would hear sentences and I added those to the letter. And when I mailed it, Carol, I knew absolutely that they would choose me, never doubted it. So I spent my days thinking of meeting Joel and the others and what I would say to them. I visualized myself on the stage where I'd seen plays in muticals in Dallas at Fair Park, and I knew I belonged. Then the letter came accepting me. Well, I thought that's all I had to do. And then I was told, oh no, this is the beginning. So I had to meet with other nine-year-olds and answer difficult questions. Well, this wasn't a problem. I didn't know where I got the confidence. But I went into the competition knowing that I could win. And I did. I had to win over and over because to become the one nine-year-old to represent all the nine-year-olds in Dallas, I had to prove my worth. And so when they asked many questions, uh some of them I didn't know. So I didn't raise my hand. But when I had the answer, it would just pop into my mind. And I had naturally curly long hair. And so when I knew the answer, I'd start bouncing it up and down out of my seat with my arm in the air. And the judge said later that he had to call me. I was a mass of moving curls. So this is the result of connecting to the quantum field. I had a vision, I saw myself on the stage, I daydreamed, which Fred Allen Wolf says creates a handshake across time, meaning that when you spend time pretending you have what you want, you can bring that into reality. This is called collapsing the wave. And after all of this, I did get on the stage with Joel, but the marketing people kept all of these whiz kids hidden. But I learned that I could create my future, and that has seriously benefited me my entire life. So what is stored in the field? Well, the field holds everything, every possibility, every potential future, every version of you that could exist. This includes wisdom from the past, knowledge from the future, solutions to problems, answers to your prayers, and pathways to your purpose. And you can access this information. Indigenous traditions call this the spirit world. Mystics refer to it as the Akashic Records. Physicists call it the zero-point field, and I call it the infinite intelligence of the universe. Whatever the name, it's the same. It's an ocean of knowing, energy, and consciousness. So you don't need special powers to reach the field. You only need stillness, awareness, and intention.

Wow, thank you. You offer a beautiful meditation where people visit their past and their future. Why is this time traveler practice so important for us creators?

Because so many of us carry baggage from the past, Carol, or we fear the future, but in the field, time isn't linear. It's all now. When you visit your past from your higher self, you can shift your relationship to those memories. And when you visit your future, you bring that wisdom and courage into the present. It's not just healing, it's activating your full creative power. You ask the field a question. The field holds the answers. You want to try this before sleep or before you meditate. You simply get quiet, ask a question out loud or in your mind. Examples, what is my next step or how can I solve this problem? And give the field two examples of possible solutions. Then let go. Don't try to solve it. Let the field respond. It will in dreams, symbols, signs, or sudden knowing. The field will answer you. Trust this. Once I asked the field, should I reduce my caffeine and give up coffee and drink tea? That was a serious question for me because I love that first cup of coffee. So the next day I turned on the TV and started a movie. And the first scene, a detective said to a lady, What you need, dear, is a cup of hot, sweet tea. And that was my answer. See, you never know where it's going to come from.

Well, you also tell a story about your birthday in New York, where the universe delivered a $6,000 gift. How can filmmakers begin to trust that kind of synchronicity?

Well, I'll cover this in this second chapter. So here we go. Chapter two: The Field Remembers Everything Time, Space, and Consciousness. The quantum field is not just a storehouse of energy, it is a living consciousness that holds everything. It remembers every song, ever sung, every tear ever shed, every hope whispered into the wind. And it holds your entire life, not what you've lived, but what you're capable of living. This was always a problem with me because when I was running my film company, I often hired people where I saw their potential and they did not. And this can create major delays for you when you don't see your own potential. One woman I hired in 1992, I'm still friends with today, and I said she was a writer. And I often introduced her as a writer, and she would get so upset with me and say, adamantly, I'm not a writer. Well, of course she is. Now she's running an online echo psychology class, and she wrote herself into an online educational school with her writing talents. And of course, she wrote a book. It just took her 20 more years to find that talent. So listen to your friends. When they say you're talented or you're good at something, realize that's a compliment and that's a wake-up call to tell you this is a talent, so focus on it. Believe it and make it real, because you can create your future. That's what this book is all about. This idea that the field holds what you're capable of may sound impossible at first. After all, we're taught to see time as a straight line. Past is behind us, the present is where we stand, and the future is ahead. But in the field, time is nonlinear. It loops and layers and responds to awareness, and consciousness moves freely through it. So when you begin to work with this idea, not just as a concept, but as an inner experience, you open the door to something truly transformational. You realize I am not trapped in time. I am a creator within it. And you, if you want to, are being transformed. There is no then, there is only now. So let's take a moment to stretch your imagination, because in the quantum field, everything exists as waves of potential. A thought is a wave, an emotion is a wave, a dream is a wave. So when you focus your consciousness on a possibility, you begin collapsing the wave into reality. And that's what quantum physics mean when they say the observer affects the observed. You are observing your reality into being, moment by moment. So what if you could observe a new version of your past or tune into a future version of yourself who is already wise, healed, and abundant? When I was just starting my film business in New York, I had very few friends and I was mostly alone. Well, my birthday was coming, and so I asked the universe to give me a great birthday, surprise me with something fantastic. I just kept this vision of being very happy and thrilled to pieces. And I felt joy and gratitude with the vision. But a few days before my birthday, I got a call from a laboratory in New York City to come give them an estimate on some laboratory film stocks that they wanted to sell. So I got there and I found that all of these uh film stocks are in new cans and they look excellent. So why do you want to sell this? I asked, because I usually bought film that had been open or partially used, but this was brand new and it looked uh like something was wrong here. So I took the time to get them to tell me what happened, and they said there was a fire near the film vault. So they told the insurance company uh and the that they didn't want to use this film and they wrote the cost off. So this money for me was gravy, extra money for them. So I gave them a reasonable price and I went back to the office and I started selling it because I didn't have 30,000 carol to buy this film stock, but somebody did. So after several calls, I found a buyer and they agreed to pay me on the spot when I delivered. Well, that was a birthday I'll always remember because I picked up the stock from one lab and drove four blocks and delivered it to another lab. I covered my check with a stock sale and had 6,000 profit on my birthday. That was a gift from the universe. This was a lot of money in the 70s. Now, past healing is present power. Many people feel chained to their past, but something happened. It hurt, it limited them, and now they carry it like armor. But I want you to know this: the past is not a prison, it's a portal. You don't have to relive your trauma to heal it. You can simply connect to the version of you who's already transcended it, and that version exists in the field. And when you bring awareness to this version, when you feel these versions and you begin to embody a version that you want for your current self, in this way, healing happens not through force, but through frequency. You're not fixing the past, you're reclaiming that energy it held and using it to fuel your becoming. Tesla and Einstein both believe that frequency is the key. The field exists beyond space. Just as the field transcends time, it transcends space. So that means it's not far away. You don't have to travel to the mountains of the desert to reach it. The field is present in your living room, in your kitchen. It's in your heart. It's the silence between your thoughts, it's the breath between your sentences. In fact, the field is closest when you're still. Stillness is the gateway. When the body softens and the mind quiets, the feel rises to meet you. This is why meditation, breath work, and prayer and intention are so powerful. They help you slow down the noise of the World, so you can hear the subtle voice of the universe and the field. And in that space, without movement, without force, you receive. So you start small, you ask for a sign, you set a clear intention, and then you get very still because this field responds in quiet, unexpected ways, like a line in a movie or someone calling just at the right time. That birthday gift was about me believing joyfully without resistance. And when filmmakers hold their film as it's already complete and radiate that energy, they attract collaborators, donors, and even miracles.

Well, you talk about feeling the web, the energetic threads that connect us to everything. How does this awareness help someone actively raising money or pitching their film?

Because when you feel the web, you remember that you're never alone. There's an energetic connection between you and your future funder, between your story and the person waiting to see it. So instead of begging or fearing rejection, you approach pitching with alignment. You vibrate with success, and that energy is contagious. It's what draws people to say, yes, I want to be part of that film.

And finally, you see the difference between normal and genius is your connection to the field. What do you want filmmakers to take away from that statement?

Well, I want them to realize they don't have to work harder, they have to connect deeper. Genius isn't all about IQ, it's about insight. It's listening to the field, following inner guidance and trusting that flow. Every filmmaker has that power. And this book is my way of showing them how to access it moment by moment, breath by breath.
